If you’re a Huxley user, you’ll noticed the distinct scent they have on most if not all of their products. I’ve read that the signature scent of Huxley is made specially for them by LUZI. Top Note: watery, flowery green; Middle note: soft white blossom scents ( jasmine, white roses, lilies and gardenia florals); Base note: powdery, light musk.
Huxley products are more on the expensive side of skincare but are worth it. You just have to choose what type of product suits you best. Like for example they have different essence/oils.

This is the first time I’ve tried using a mask with dual-pouch, which contains oil and watery essence separately. I bought a back-up of this as I’ve been saving it on my big day. It’s quite pricey so I’m only using it when I have important events that I need to feel extra 🤩🥰. I will be using it on my wedding next month 🥳

How to use: (see ASMR video for demo)
1. Fold over the bottom of the pouch 3 times and wait for it to pop.
2. Once it pops, press down the mask to mix the essence and oil.
3. Once it turned milky and evenly, open the mask and use it on your face.
The mask itself is thick and the essence smells like the signature scent of huxley products. Smells like spring & hint of jasmine. Some might find this too strong but I really like it, it’s calming for me. Essence doesn’t feel heavy or tacky.
So normally, when I wear this the night before my event, I include clay masking on my routine. The combination of exfoliating and soaking it with this mask, will give you a beautiful glow in the morning. I love how my skin felt in the morning, hydrated and glowing.

On a regular masking day I would definitely not buy it because for a mask, it’s too pricey. Masks have temporary results so I prefer saving for products like serum, ampoule etc.

If you want to start using oil but are afraid to do-so, you may start with this essence + oil infused product. It’s called an oil essence which balances the oil and essence so it will not feel heavy but with the benefit of oil. It is designed for those who are afraid of using oil because of the heavy & greasy feeling.

Let’s talk about consistency, it has a silky texture that is a right amount of oil & essence combined. The oil doesn’t overpower the essence but compliments it. It’s not watery but not to creamy. In the texture part, they really nailed it. It doesn’t feel heavy, tacky or greasy at all. It feels comfortable and is easily absorbed by the skin. And feels hydrating as well. The thing you’ll noticed about it is it’s heavily fragranced. It’s fragrance level would be 4/5. It doesn’t bother me though because I’m a fan of their scent. But for scentsitive persons, it may not be advisable. Using huxley products feels luxurious, it’s like you get what you paid for. I have a love-hate relationship with this product, I think because of my changing skin. My skin have changed drastically from oily to dehydrated that it feels like it’s dry and now to combination. Recently, I have combination skin so sometimes when I use it, I woke up to a fresh face but oily nose. There are also times when I woke-up to a plump and fresh face (not oily). It really depends. It gives your skin hydration and makes your skin look healthier. There are products that works great when you tried it for the first week and then feels like it doesn’t give you much on the following weeks. That is what I feel using this product.
So far I did enjoy this product, It doesn’t have that wow factor considering it’s price but it’s not a bad product either. Among the 4 essence, I would probably go for this one. then followed by Brightly Ever After.

Secret of Sahara Essence Minis:
- Grab water – watery but not runny. Fragrance level: 2.5/5 . Easily absorbed and not tacky.
- Brightly Ever After – milky consistency, a bit watery, Fragrance level: 3/5, Easily absorbed and not tacky but there’s a bit of greasy feels but is gone when dries. Comes 2nd to my faves from the bunch. Reminds of of Laneige cream skin refiner but the consistency of this is much thicker.
- Oil: light and more – oil, runny consistency; Fragrance level: 2/5. Easily absorbed, not tacky but a bit greasy feel. Not a fan of oils.
