Let’s talk about my preference for a sunscreen.
First, I look for a dewy finish. Although I have oily to combi skin type, I don’t prefer sunscreen that makes me look matte.
Second is I don’t like white cast. There’s a biore sunscreen (pink) that I wasn’t able to finish because the whitecast gives me anxiety hahaha. When I wear it, I feel that I look like a half ghost, half human (you know what I mean).
Third, it should be moisturizing. Plus points if it’s hydrating because I don’t like using moisturizer in the morning. My moisturizer is the sunscreen itself.
Fourth, I don’t like the typical chemical scent that you usually smell on body sunscreens. Lastly, It doesn’t matter if its physical or chemical as long as it satisfies the previous points I mentioned.
What do you look for in choosing the best sunscreen?
Packaging: A moment of silence on how pretty the packaging is! I just love the nozzle, it looks very elegant and unique. It’s sleek & small so its very travel friendly.
Smell: it doesn’t smell like a typical sunscreen which I like. It has a mild herby scent.
Whitecast: On first application, you’ll see the tone up. But once you’ve spread it all over and is absorbed, the whitecast disappears. See photos.
Texture: It has a creamy texture which spreads easily. What I noticed is that when you spread it, it turns more like an oily consistency. But once dried, it’s pretty much matte. It doesn’t feel sticky or greasy but it’s too matte for my liking. I like that it doesn’t pill on itself and when I put on my makeup. I noticed that my makeup stays longer too. 💜
It makes your skin less oily throughout the day so I highly recommend this to those who have a very oily skin! When you use it by itself, it doesn’t feel the typical powdery matte feeling, its matte, matte. What I do is I spray on mist coz I like it dewy. I don’t recommend this to those who have dry skin as it may feel dry.
It’s a no stress physical sunscreen in a sense that you don’t need to blot from time to time. It keeps your oily skin at bay!
It is currently available at axis-y.com for $23.00 (Php 1,172)
